Can we stop grays with a pill?
Scientists are in hot search of a "cure" for gray hair and they're getting closer. A study released last year showed that gray is triggered by hydrogen peroxide and other cell destructive molecules that build up as we get older, brightening color from the hair. The deficiency of an enzyme referred to as Catalase enables these molecules to build up, but Scientists believes they have discovered a chemical element that can regain Catalase and thus return hair to its initial color.
Researchers are working to integrate the ingredient into leave-in conditioners and serums. Moreover, L'Oréal's Paris-based hair biology analysis group lately determined a pair of genes that may identify the extended life of the cells that give hair its color. L'Oréal experts are hard at work acquiring a treatment to prevent the gradual downfall in these color-producing cells and cease or at least slow the graying practice.
